The NAUMD Conference<\/a> and IOY (Image of the Year) Awards are around the corner and we are looking forward to once again attending this year\u2019s event. The award show<\/a> is taking place in New Orleans and this year has generated more interest and participation as a result. Cobmex is pleased to be sending 5 of our team members to the award show to represent the company and participate in this event.<\/p>\n

This year President of Cobmex, Phil Newman, has been selected as Chairman of the NAUMD<\/a>. Congratulations to Phil as this is the first time a Canadian has held the position of Chairman<\/a>! Another congratulation is in order to our Vice-President, Jon Edberg, for winning last year\u2019s Rising Star award. Jon won this award last year alongside Dani Halfhill from Galls. Jon will also be joining the NAUMD Board of Directors<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This year, the NAUMD<\/a> will be honoring Margaret Ramsdal<\/a>e from Omega Uniform System<\/a> & The Unisync Group<\/a> by presenting her with the life time achievement award. In case you didn\u2019t know, Margaret was the first Canadian female on the NAUMD<\/a> board of directors as well as its executive committee. A well-deserved award to our long-time friend that couldn\u2019t come at a better time with having just celebrated Independent Women\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n

The NAUMD<\/a> was founded in 1932. This association is a community of interest for the uniform and\u00a0image apparel industry. It is composed of manufacturers, distributors and associated\u00a0companies that have a common bond in the future our industry. Its 500+ members include manufacturers, designers, producers, and retailers of uniforms, as well as those who produce products and services for the industry at large.<\/p>\n

The NAUMD<\/a> works to protect the interests of its members through a series of advocacy, education, and public relations campaigns intended to arm them with the tools needed to retain and capture business in a global economy. NAUMD<\/a> also hosts an annual convention and trade show where attendees can source products, learn about trends, and gain practical, take-home knowledge to better run their businesses.<\/p>\n
