With the holiday season upon us, we couldn’t think of a better time to give back to communities in need. After all, that’s what the holiday season is about – giving back. Cobmex is always proud to take part in charitable organizations that aim to help future generations of children.
As in years past, Cobmex sponsored the sports day for the Pastoralist Child Foundation. PCF’s mission is to educate youth, eradicate the harmful practice of female genital mutilation and the often too early marriage of young girls to older men in the pastoralist Maasai communities of Kenya, Africa. The children in Maasai communities want to get an education and achieve their dreams – like children everywhere else. The objective is to prevent harmful practices that marginalize girls.
This year, Cobmex raised $3,538.30 for the Pastoralist Child Foundation Annual Youth Soccer & Volleyball Tournament. The tournament was held at the Archer’s Post Stadium in Samburu County and was a huge success! The PCF added a volleyball competition for boys and it was a great turnout. There were 400 youth from all over Samburu County who spent the day in friendly competition for coveted trophies.
Cobmex wishes everyone an equal opportunity at life and couldn’t be prouder to support this cause. If you would like to get involved and donate to PCF, visit their website to learn how every dollar counts: https://pastoralistchildfoundation.org/donate/
We wish you a happy holiday season from our family to yours!
