Cobmex has some exciting occasions to celebrate ahead! The NAUMD Conference and IOY (Image of the Year) Awards are around the corner and we are looking forward to once again attending this year’s event. The award show is taking place in New Orleans and this year has generated more interest and participation as a result. Cobmex is pleased to be sending 5 of our team members to the award show to represent the company and participate in this event.
This year President of Cobmex, Phil Newman, has been selected as Chairman of the NAUMD. Congratulations to Phil as this is the first time a Canadian has held the position of Chairman! Another congratulation is in order to our Vice-President, Jon Edberg, for winning last year’s Rising Star award. Jon won this award last year alongside Dani Halfhill from Galls. Jon will also be joining the NAUMD Board of Directors.
This year, the NAUMD will be honoring Margaret Ramsdale from Omega Uniform System & The Unisync Group by presenting her with the life time achievement award. In case you didn’t know, Margaret was the first Canadian female on the NAUMD board of directors as well as its executive committee. A well-deserved award to our long-time friend that couldn’t come at a better time with having just celebrated Independent Women’s Day.

The NAUMD was founded in 1932. This association is a community of interest for the uniform and image apparel industry. It is composed of manufacturers, distributors and associated companies that have a common bond in the future our industry. Its 500+ members include manufacturers, designers, producers, and retailers of uniforms, as well as those who produce products and services for the industry at large.
The NAUMD works to protect the interests of its members through a series of advocacy, education, and public relations campaigns intended to arm them with the tools needed to retain and capture business in a global economy. NAUMD also hosts an annual convention and trade show where attendees can source products, learn about trends, and gain practical, take-home knowledge to better run their businesses.
